Little Red Hen is a well-known story that, by definition is not a fairy tale but a fable. Feel free to check the differences between fables and fairy tales. Little Red Hen tells about the hen who wants to make a leaf of bread. This is not very complicated but demands some planning, patience, and, above all, activity. She has a few friends who live in the same place but none of them seems interested to help. So she does everything by herself and in the end denies everybody else to eat with her.
Is there any truth in fairy tales? Was there a real Rapunzel or Snow White? How about Red Riding Hood? How many autobiographical elements of authors can be recognized in classic stories for children?
